Today was the start of a block of the month featuring Esther Aliu's interpretation of the 1790's marriage coverlet pictured below.
The black and white picture of the quilt comes from the book "Patchwork" (1956) by Averil Colby. Esther doesn't know the quilt's present location. If anyone reading this has information on the quilt please post your findings in the comments section.
I will be downloading the monthly pattern, but I'm not sure if or when I will start working on this quilt. I love the center, but at this point I would have a difficult time figuring out which fabrics or colorway I'd use. I suppose the easy thing would be to make mine black and white, but that would require more quilting courage than I possess. Only time will tell.

Hi Theresia, thank you for your comment on my blog.I could not reply to it as you are on no-reply, so I came to see if you had a bog. Hopefully this gets to you! That is good, that you are also making the Mary Simon quilt! generally speaking, because I am doing a reproduction, I draw in whatever is missing on the pattern. there are some lines missing here and there too. It is such fun, making this quilt! Jane
